Katie Belland joined M. Wood Company after over 10 years of professional experience in multiple industries. In the late 1990s she worked and financed her way through college. She has lived abroad, both in Canada and in Europe, and is conversational in French. Belland earned a Bachelor's degree and began her professional career as a bilingual customer service manager for a sporting goods manufacturing company headquartered in New England. She consulted with clients, both domestically and internationally, to create customer specific inventory solutions for a seasonal product. Quickly expanding her role and developing a variety of business experiences, Belland grew her skill set and the scope of projects that she was working with from customer service to include operations, marketing, sales, accounting and program management. Her cross functional business experience has touched a variety of industries including healthcare, manufacturing, retail, sporting goods and commercial real estate. As an Executive Search Consultant at M. Wood Company, Belland’s role within the organization touches all aspects of the executive search and consulting process. She works face-to-face with client executive teams, as well as working closely with senior partners at M. Wood Company, to develop organizational search strategies and processes.
Belland's approach to executive search begins with researching the client's organization, industry and competitors. The knowledge collected through this thorough research phase is used to define the client's specific needs for the role, create target lists, network through the industry, evaluate and interview candidates, conduct references, assist both the client and the candidate through the interviewing process, and ultimately make strong hiring decisions. Belland has fully embraced the M. Wood Company philosophy of executive search, and has focused her talents of research and recruiting on developing client-specific solutions.
