Cara Rybarik joined M. Wood Company in 2003 following five progressive years in the executive search industry. Her experience in search began as Research Associate and soon thereafter escalated to Account Manager for a multi million dollar practice. Prior to joining M. Wood Company, Rybarik served as Director of Research for a divisional office of a top, nationally ranked executive search firm
Since 1998, Rybarik has successfully recruited senior level executives in all functions within multiple industries including high technology, healthcare/managed care, consumer goods, retail and manufacturing. Remaining close to the client throughout the execution of all large scale assignments, Rybarik has developed a strong track record of client partnerships and a large national network of candidate and professional organizational relationships. Rybarik’s expertise in identifying qualified candidates, along with her client-centric focus, are consistent with M. Wood Company’s consultative methodology and have brought immediate value to the organization.
As an Executive Search Consultant, Rybarik’s role at M. Wood Company crosses all levels of the executive search consulting process. Being intimately involved, she handles account and candidate management, front-end definition, competitive analysis and recruitment, candidate interviews, offer negotiations and add-on sales. She has proven to be an essential first-time contact and resource to clients and candidates throughout the entire search life cycle. In addition, Rybarik has been the driving force behind the augmentation of M. Wood Company’s research capabilities.
Since joining the team, Rybarik has been a liaison to senior management in conducting executive level searches for M. Wood Company’s healthcare, professional services, insurance and technology client base. She has also led the effort to hire, train and mentor new internal research staff.

Over the past year, Rybarik has filled senior level (many C-level) hospital positions for acute care hospitals in three different environments: multi-hospital regional medical centers, inner-city hospitals, and urban hospitals with facilities in more than one location. She and her team have recently engaged in executive level searches within Enterprise Risk Management, Surgical Services, Pharmacy Management, Facilities Management, Administrative Management, and Nursing Operations. Often Rybarik will interface with the executive management team along with the Board of Directors to define scope of responsibilities that would suit the client’s unique needs.

Recruited leading executives for a global financial institution based in the EU offering banking, insurance and asset management to over 60 million private, corporate and institutional clients in 50 countries. During the search, Rybarik partnered with the executive leadership team to define parameters for this newly developed department. Utilizing her unique research network and established relationships with a variety of organizations Rybarik was able to present multiple qualified candidates, two of which were subsequently hired. This client approaches their operations in a new, innovative manner. They are changing the way the industry approaches technology as we know it today, and the leaders Rybarik recruited are on the forefront!
- Successfully completed a Regional Vice President search for a $12 Billion national and international based retailer and has maintained the client relationship since placement. During the search, Rybarik partnered with the executive leadership team to define parameters for this special needs search. Utilizing her network relationships with a variety of diversity organizations enabled Rybarik to present multiple qualified diversity candidates, one of which was subsequently hired.
- Led the search for two newly developed C-level roles within a Managed Care Provider who services active and retired armed service members through its association with the Department of Defense. Interfaced with the executive management team along with the Board of Directors to define scope of responsibilities that would suit their unique needs outside the realm of traditional healthcare. Successfully recruited and placed outstanding candidates for the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Security Officer roles.
Rybarik holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and Political Science from Carthage College.
